Emily Hosler enters her second season at Stevenson as the head acrobatics & tumbling coach during the 2022-23 academic year.
She was named the first head coach in Stevenson acrobatics & tumbling history on September 1, 2021.
Hosler guided the Mustangs through their inaugural season in the spring of 2022, overseeing a squad that showed steady improvement throughout the season. The Mustangs pulled much of the initial roster from the cheer and dance teams on campus, officially competing in their first event on February 19, 2022 against Frostburg State inside the Greenspring Gymnasium.
Stevenson placed six on the NCATA Academic Honor Roll during the 2022 season, while Allison Trinks earned the NCATA DIII Invitational title in the aerial pass in April 2022.
Stevenson formalized the addition of acrobatics & tumbling in June 2021 as the 28th NCAA varsity sport at the university. The Mustangs are the 39th member of the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association (NCATA), becoming the second school in the state of Maryland and first in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. metro region to add the sport.
Hosler arrives in Owings Mills following two seasons as the head acrobatics & tumbling coach at NCAA Division II Alderson Broaddus, her alma mater, since 2019. She competed as a student-athlete on the inaugural acrobatics & tumbling roster for Alderson Broaddus before transitioning to a student assistant coach as a junior in 2015 for the newly-formed program.
Hosler recently added duties as the Battlers' Title IX Investigator and Athletic Liaison since 2020 in addition to her role as head coach. Prior to returning to her alma mater, she worked as a graduate assistant coach for the nationally-prominent West Liberty acrobatics & tumbling program.
She graduated from the WeCOACH NCAA Women's Coaches Academy this past December. Hosted in partnership between WeCOACH and the NCAA, the four-day educational training is designed for female coaches to increase their individual effectiveness by learning advanced skills and strategies that directly affect their personal and team success.
She earned her bachelor's degree in political science from Alderson Broaddus in 2017 before completing her master's in sports leadership at West Liberty in 2020.
