WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Stevenson men's soccer team turned in an offensive showcase Friday evening, defeating Gallaudet, 13-0. The Mustangs poured in seven goals in the opening half before adding six more after the break to secure the shutout victory. Stevenson finished the contest with 52 shots, including 35 on goal, while limiting the Bison to just one attempt.
The Mustangs wasted little time getting on the board as Rylan Dauter opened the scoring in the fifth minute off an assist from Gaston Magrinat-Valdes. Kameron Ross doubled the advantage less than five minutes later, finding the back of the net off a feed from Dauter.
Stevenson continued to pile on the pressure midway through the opening half. Blest Dumbuya converted a penalty kick in the 17th minute before Ross collected his second goal of the night just 36 seconds later off an assist from Jackson Robinson. Dumbuya followed with his second penalty-kick goal in the 19th minute to push the Mustang lead to 5-0.
Magrinat-Valdes joined the scoring in the 25th minute, converting another penalty kick to give Stevenson a six-goal advantage. Jaxon Blanco then recorded his first goal of the contest in the 38th minute off an assist from Bobby Brand, sending the Mustangs into halftime with a 7-0 lead.
The offense carried its momentum into the second half as Ashton Guidry scored in the 55th minute off an assist from Nico Paz. Blanco followed with his second goal in the 63rd minute, with Trent Phillips picking up the assist.
Blanco completed his hat trick in the 81st minute before adding his fourth goal less than four minutes later off another Brand assist. Jeffrey Tillman scored just 26 seconds later off a feed from Paz, while Brand capped the scoring with three seconds remaining, also assisted by Paz.
Blanco led the Mustang attack with four goals on 10 shots, placing eight attempts on frame. Dumbuya and Ross each added two goals, while Paz dished out a game-high three assists. Brand finished with a goal and two assists, while Dauter added a goal and an assist.
Stevenson used three goalkeepers in the shutout. Andrew Sindicic earned the start and victory before Mason Shilling and Isaac House finished the contest. The trio combined to hold Gallaudet without a shot on goal.
The Mustangs return to action on Wednesday, September 9th, when they host Shenandoah University for a 6 p.m. kickoff on Owings Mills East.
