The Mustangs wasted no time getting on the board, striking in the opening inning as
Ava Stafursky delivered an RBI single down the left field line to plate
Maria Morsa and give Stevenson a 1-0 lead.
Stevenson added to its advantage in the third inning, capitalizing on defensive miscues by York.
Rebecca Maiorano crossed the plate on an error before
Mykaela Getz followed with an RBI ground out to extend the lead to 3-0.
York threatened throughout the game, tallying 11 hits, but the Mustangs' defense and pitching held firm. The Spartans broke through in the fifth inning with an RBI single to cut the deficit to 3-1.
The Mustangs created some breathing room in the seventh inning when Getz came through again, this time with an RBI single to score
Tessa Boswell and push the lead to 4-1. York answered with a run in the bottom half, but Stevenson shut the door to secure the 4-2 victory.
Getz led the offense with two RBIs, while Stafursky added an RBI and Morsa scored a run. Boswell also contributed with a hit and a run scored.
In the circle,
Anna Sexton (8-6) was dominant, tossing a complete game while allowing just two runs on 11 hits and striking out two to earn the win.
Game 2:
Stevenson fell behind early as York plated six runs in the first inning and added five more in the second to take control. Despite the deficit, the Mustangs remained composed and continued to compete at the plate, working several strong at-bats and putting runners on base.
Boswell led Stevenson offensively, going a perfect 2-for-2 and recording both of the team's hits. The Mustangs also showed patience, drawing five walks, including multiple free passes from
Sahara Ward and Getz, to create scoring opportunities.
In the circle, Stevenson turned to multiple pitchers, with

With the regular season now complete, the Mustangs will await their next doubleheader as they enter the MAC Commonwealth Championship tournament looking to make a strong postseason run.
