Mustang Women Win 11 Events, Take First Place at Stampede Invitational

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson women's track and field team won 11 events and finished first in the team standings with 247 points at the Mustang Stampede Invitational. The Mustangs also celebrated Senior Day at the meet. 

In the 4x100, Kaliyah Heffner, Dallas Fowler, Camryn Stanard and Destiny Stephens clocked a season-best time of 49.23, which gave them first in the event. Stevenson's other squad in the event (Sarah Kroedel, Hannah Kepler, Laylah Talley and Haley Jones) placed second in the event with a time of 52.90. 

Heffner, Fowler, Stanard and Stephens would also win the 4x400 with a combined time of 4:14.97. Shaelyn O'Halloran, Mackenzie Borchers, Aryanna Jones and C. Henry took first in the 4x800 with a time of 11:27.20.

Kaitlyn Hess won the triple jump with a season-best distance of 10.66m. Talley and Cynthia Torre placed second and third with distances of 9.77 and 9.71m - both are personal bests. Hess would also place second in the long jump with a leap of 4.99m. Talley placed third with a distance of 4.65m. 

Kroedel won the 100m hurdles with a personal-best time of 15.57. Kroedel's performance is fourth best in the MAC thus far. Talley placed second with a personal-best 16.15. 

Fowler placed second in the 400 with a personal-best time of 58.83 (4th best in the MAC). Stanard placed second in the 200 with a time of 25.81. Destiny Stephens placed sixth in the event with a 27.38.

Kyrah Agbemble won the discus with a toss of 33.52m. Reagan Wildasin placed third with a throw of 31.02m. Agbemble would also take second in the hammer with a personal-best toss of 38.15m. Nneoma Oseagulu tossed a 34.03 to take third place.

Wildasin would also place second in the shot put with a top throw of 10.02m.

Cara Guagenti won the javelin with a toss of 27.76m. Cayla Wiley took first in the high jump with a top height of 1.38m, while Haley Jones won the pole vault with a height of 2.45m. 

O'Halloran and Borchers won the 1500 and 800 with times of 5:37.37 and 2:42.90. 

The Mustangs compete next at the Penn Relays starting on Thursday, April 23.
