HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Stevenson women's tennis team (2-1) opened up spring break play with a 6-1 defeat to Ripon College (WI).

Ariella Stepleman led the way for the Mustangs with two victories. Stepleman and Emma Clayton picked up a win in No. 1 doubles, 7-5.

Stepleman would also win her second match of the season in No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-4.  

Clayton lost a hard-fought match in No. 2 singles, 1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-6, while Rachel Lubovsky and Bethany Luckett fell in straight sets. 

Stevenson will have the day off before taking on Agnes Scott College (GA) on Tuesday, March 17.
