WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Stevenson men's ice hockey team (12-6-1 overall, 12-3-1 MAC) dropped a 4-1 decision to Wilkes (11-6-3 overall, 8-6-2 MAC) on Saturday afternoon.
Wilkes scored twice in the opening period to take a 2-0 lead. The Mustangs responded shortly after, as Caden Smith found the back of the net, assisted by Jack Karlsson and John Musella, to put Stevenson on the board.
Despite sustained offensive pressure from Stevenson in the third period, the Colonels sealed the win with a goal in the 15th minute of the period and an empty-net goal in the final four minutes of play.
Three Mustangs recorded a point in the contest, while Ford DeLoss collected 25 saves.
Stevenson returns to action on Monday when they travel back to the Toyota Sportsplex to finish their game against Misericordia that was suspended in the second period. The game will resume at 3:00 p.m.
