OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson women's soccer team (4-2-3) slotted a 2-1 win over the King's College (Pa.) Monarchs (3-6-1) on Saturday afternoon.
The Monarchs opened the scoring in the 42
nd minute of the match to take the 1-0 lead at halftime. In the second half,
Karly Sheahan put the Mustangs on the board with an assist from
Kayla Gerbes in the 54
th minute to tie the match 1-1. Sheahan then netted a second goal and capped off the 2-1 win for Stevenson in the 68
th minute.
Stevenson out shot King's 14-8, as both teams slotted five shots on goal. Sheahan led the Mustangs with a four-point game with two goals as Gerbes grabbed one point from her assist.
Isabella Serano notched her fourth win of the season in goal and made four saves.
Stevenson will prepare for a three-game home stretch, starting with Neumann University. Kick-off is set for 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1.
