OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson field hockey team (8-1) snagged a 4-1 win over the Mary Washington Eagles (5-3) on Saturday afternoon.
The Mustangs opened scoring on the afternoon in the sixth minute with a goal from
Abry Klinger, with an assist from
Coco Wallace. The Eagles followed in the ninth minute to tie the contest 1-1, but Wallace followed with an unassisted goal in the 13
th minute to put the Mustangs up 2-1.
Shae Bennett put up the third goal for Stevenson with a minute left in the half, off a ball from Monica Drukemiller.
In the fourth quarter,
Gracyn Catalano capped off the 4-1 win with an assist from Wallace.
The Mustangs out shot the Eagles 15-7 overall, 11-6 on cage. Wallace led the Mustangs on the day with a four-point afternoon with a goal and two assists. Bennett, Klinger, and Catalano each grabbed a two-point game from their goals, as Drukemiller notched a point from her assist.
Jordan Vradenburgh tallied her eighth win of the season, while making five saves in cage.
Stevenson will remain home and prepare to host Lancaster Bible College for the team's Breast Cancer Awareness Game on Tuesday, September 30. First whistle is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Owings Mills East.
