Stevenson, Md. - The Stevenson women's tennis team opened up its 2025 fall campaign with a 6-1 win over visiting Marymount.
Shelby Carter and
Ariella Stepleman shutout their No. 1 doubles opponents by a 6-0 score.
Tiffany Njemanze and
Emma Clayton defeated their No. 3 opponents by the same 6-0 margin.
Kara Chwang and
Sofia McCoy won in No. 2, 6-3.
The Mustangs would then take five of the six singles matches in straight sets.
Stepleman and Chwang won their No. 2 and 3 singles matches by scores of 6-4, 6-1 and 6-4, 6-4. McCoy picked up her first singles win of the year by a 6-3, 6-2 margin, while Njemanze won in No. 5, 6-2, 6-3.
Clayton cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 6 for her first collegiate singles win.
The Mustangs (1-0) will have an extended break from play before competing in the Goucher College Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 11.
