OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson University head men's and women's swimming coach
Clarke Nyman has announced that he will be stepping away from his position in August.
In his six years at the helm, Nyman has guided the Mustangs to continued success both in and out of the pool. He leaves Stevenson as the all-time leader in dual meet wins with 24 on the men's side and 27 on the women's side.
During the 2022-23 season, the Mustangs finished with winning records for the first time in school history as the men's team went 8-7 in dual meets, while the women's team went 9-6. For their efforts that season, the Mustangs were recognized by Swimcloud.com as the second most improved team in NCAA Division III. Overall, the swim team has broken 23 school records.
Five swimmers have achieved a total of seven All-MAC honors during his tenure, two of which were men's swimmers achieving 1
st and 2
nd All-MAC honors for the first time in school history. The team has also been recognized numerous times as Academic All-America Teams by the CSCAA.
A national search is underway for his successor.
