OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Patrick Caulden of the Stevenson men's soccer team and upcoming SAAC President is using his summer to take strides in the accounting world with an internship with Myers and Stauffer LC. The company is known as being a premier partner of government-sponsored health and human services.
Caulden discovered this internship through Stevenson, as the accounting and business school provides resources to guide students to find success. This summer his focus is on audits of nursing facilities across the country, as they verify the accuracy of the staffing and census data reported by all nursing homes which directly affects the Five-Star Quality Rating of the nursing homes.
"As an accounting major this was the perfect way to continue my learning outside of school and get real world experience that can translate in the classroom," said Caulden. "Gives me a sense of what the corporate world I'm going to be in pretty soon."
Being a student-athlete has helped Caulden and guided him to work toward common goals and support others, both skills that translate to his work in a collaborative office environment. "Managing practice, games, and academics also helped me develop strong time management skills as well," noted Caulden.
