FREDERICK, Md. - The Stevenson men's tennis team dominated host Hood by a 7-0 score - improving its MAC Commonwealth record to 2-0.
Luke Appleman and
Simeon Smith dropped their No. 1 doubles match by a 6-4 score to fall to 3-7 on the year. But,
Garrett Warren and
Nickolas Valis' 6-2 win in No. 2 along with a victory via withdraw in No. 3 gave Stevenson a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
Appleman picked up his fifth singles win of the year in No. 1, 7-5, 6-3. Smith picked up his fourth win by a 6-3, 6-2 score and Warren shutout his No. 3 opponent, 6-0, 6-0. Warren is 4-3 in singles play thus far.
Nate Kelly picked up his second win, 7-5, 6-2. Stevenson won its other two matches via withdraw.
The Mustangs (5-6, 2-0 MACC) return home for a MAC Commonwealth matchup against Messiah on Saturday, April 12 at 1 p.m.
