NEWARK, N.J. – The Stevenson University men's volleyball team swept a pair of matches on Saturday as the Mustangs (9-4) swept Purchase and Rutgers-Newark by 3-0 scores in a tri-match hosted by Rutgers-Newark.
Stevenson 3, Purchase 0
Stevenson won by set scores of 25-13, 25-22 and 25-11 in the opener. The Mustangs hit .319 (35-13-69) and a .389 clip in the third set (9-2-18).
Tanner Laukhuff had 11 kills, while Ben Grove added in ten. Adam DeRubertis had six as well, in addition to getting six aces. Kevin Kouchoukos and Laukhuff each had two aces.
Brian Farrell and Grove had a block party as Farrell had seven total blocks while Grove had six.
Doug Hines had 24 assists along with four digs. DeDubertis and Jacob Sledz each had four digs as well.

The Mustangs defeated the Scarlet Raiders by scores of 25-23, 25-21 and 25-20. The Mustangs hit only .148 in the match (33-21-81) but hit .455 in the third set (13-3-22).
Tim Flanagan capped off his great week with a 13 kill performance while Ryan Thenell had eight as did Anthony Pezzino.
Flanagan had three aces with Connor Roth netting two. Flanagan also had four blocks on the afternoon as did Anthony Pezzino. Corwin Trouteaud had three.
Roth had 25 assists, with Thenell collecting seven digs and JD Sarmuksnis getting six.
Stevenson gets ready for a big week next week, as the Mustangs head to Messiah on Wednesday, then host Stevens and Randolph-Macon on Saturday.
