OWINGS MILLS, Md. – With four of its seniors playing in their final game, the Stevenson University Men's Basketball team sent those four offs as a winners with a 94-53 triumph over Alvernia on Saturday.
Ronald Ayers,
Nick Jones,
Cameron Sapienza and
Cameron Smith were honors prior to the game, then proceeded to sink 11 three-pointers on the day.
Ayers led the way with 15 points, while Smith and
Mason Jones each scored 13.
Kendall Seguignol adding in 11.
Jones and Seguignol each had a team-high eight rebounds, while Smith added in seven.
Myles Jackson and Sapienza each had five assists in the win.
Janye Stanley scored 12 for Alvernia.
Stevenson blew open the game by going on a 14-0 run through the latter half of the first half. The Mustangs, who led 23-21 with 7:58 left, led 37-21 with 3:51 left on a three-pointer by Ayers.
From there, the Mustangs built the lead as high as 44 points at the 3:01 mark in the second half on a three-pointer by
Kyle Luddy.
