Owings Mills, Md. (December 6) – Stevenson men's basketball turned a tight first half into a statement win on Saturday afternoon, storming past FDU-Florham with a dominant second-half surge to earn an 85–71 victory inside Owings Mills Gymnasium.
The Mustangs battled through an early deficit as the Devils opened the game on an 8–0 run, but Stevenson quickly settled in.
Christian Jackson jump-started the offense with a pair of transition layups, while
Kendall Seguignol powered the boards and scored in the paint to close the gap.
Myles Jackson's steady trips to the free-throw line and
Kole Beaman's activity around the rim helped Stevenson claw back within striking distance, trailing just 35–32 at halftime.
The second half belonged entirely to the Mustangs.
Noah Ihezue came out firing, scoring through contact to set the tone. Moments later,
Kyle Luddy drilled a three from the left wing to give Stevenson the lead—one they never surrendered again. As the offense heated up, the Mustangs' pressure intensified. Jackson created key turnovers that fueled a string of fast-break buckets, including a highlight finish from Seguignol off a perfectly timed feed.
Beaman added a crucial and-one put-back that electrified the crowd, while Ihezue and Luddy continued to punish FDU-Florham inside and out. Stevenson poured in 53 second-half points, out-running and out-rebounding the Devils down the stretch.
Ihezue led the surge with 17 points, C. Jackson and M. Jackson each added 13, and Luddy and Beaman chipped in 11 apiece. The Mustangs' depth also proved decisive, with 23 points coming from the bench.
Up next, The Mustangs return home on Tuesday, December 16 at 7:00 p.m. hosting Wilson College inside Owings Mills Gymnasium.
