OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Mustangs won five events, with four seniors grabbing a top-podium position during Senior Day after defeating King's College (Pa.) and falling to Wilkes University.
Brandon Cogdill led the way for Stevenson having won three of the four events he swam in, but his team fell short to Wilkes, 125-127, while claiming their second-straight Middle Atlantic Conference over King's (Pa.), 141-97.
Cogdill's victories started during the 200-yard Medley Relay. Alongside
Justin Watts, Zachory Clark, and
Jack Mark, the four seniors grabbed the first event victory of the meet and recorded a time of 1:45.55, a season-best for the Mustangs.
In the next event, the 1,000-yard Freestyle,
Brendan Lach won his team's second-straight event after swimming a 10:43.98 in the first 1,000-yard event of the season.
Cogdill returned to the pool three events following Lach's win and secured pole position in an individual event. He swam a 1:04.10 in the 100-yard Breaststroke.
One event later,
William Lebron swam in the 200-yard Butterfly and finished third with a 2:16.32, only 0.49 seconds off the leader. Similarly,
Keon Pugh secured third in the next event, the 50-yard Freestyle, 0.34 seconds of the winner.
Three events following Pugh's top-three finish, Cogdill returned to the pool for the 200-yard Breaststroke and won his third event of the meet with a time of 2:22.14.
Clark stepped up to the blocks two events later and secured his second victory of the afternoon, swimming a 55.01 in the 100-yard Butterfly.
Stevenson finished the meet with a second place finish by Clark in the penultimate event, and a team effort driven third in the final event of the meet.
The Mustangs will travel in two weeks time to the three-day Spartan Invitational hosted by York College (Pa.) ranging from November 21 until November 23.
