YORK, Pa. - The Mustangs break three program records on the final day of events and finish fourth at the Spartan Invitational.
Zachary Clark and
Brandon Cogdill grabbed a pair of top five finishes while Stevenson entered the final day of events sat in third with 336 points.
Brendan Lach started day three strong setting a new program record. Lach swam a 17:25.01 in the 1650-yard Freestyle, shattering his own school record set back at the 2024 MAC Championships.
Lach's new Stevenson record was followed by a new Mustang program record from Clark in the 200-yard Backstroke. Clark swam a 2:01.49, breaking the record he set at the 2025 MAC Championships by six hundredths of a second.
The 100-yard Freestyle followed the 200 Back.
Justin Watts stepped up to the blocks and placed the highest of all competing Mustangs and recorded a time of 51.04. His time set a new team season-best.
Cogdill returned to the pool during day three for the 200-yard Breaststroke. His time of 2:15.32 set a new team season-best and secured a fourth place finish.
No Stevenson swimmer took part in the finals of the next event, the 200-yard Butterfly.
The final event of the invitational was the 400-yard Freestyle Relay. Clark, Cogdill,
William Lebron, and
Keon Pugh represented the Mustangs and finished fourth with a 3:18.54 time. That time also set a new program record.
Lach and
Alexander Kaye participated in two time trial events at the end of the meet. Both swimmers recorded career-bests. Kaye swam a 52.63 in the 100-yard Freestyle Time Trial, while Lach swam 59.82 during the 100-yard Backstroke Time Trial.
The Mustangs concluded the Spartan Invitational in fourth with 451 registered points.
