Owings Mills, MD. (November 21) - The Stevenson women's basketball team turned in a dominant four-quarter effort Friday night at Owings Mills Gymnasium, rolling past Trinity Washington, 97-33, to secure a convincing victory in their home opener.

Stevenson wasted no time setting the tone. Nadia Ferguson sparked the attack early with back-to-back steals and layups in the opening minute, creating instant separation and forcing Trinity into hurried possessions. Janiya Ennis knocked down an early three and dished out assists as the Mustangs built a double-digit lead midway through the first quarter, finishing the period ahead 23-16.
 
The Mustangs' defense tightened even further in the second quarter. Stevenson forced a flurry of turnovers and turned them into quick points in transition, highlighted by a pair of triples from Janie Smith and Tessa Boswell. The home side continued to dominate on the glass, extending possessions with offensive rebounds and second-chance points to carry a 41-28 advantage into halftime.
 
Any hopes of a Trinity comeback were erased after the break. Stevenson exploded for 30 points in the third quarter, fueled by consistent inside scoring and suffocating defense that limited Trinity to just two points in the frame. Kalea Wynter and Aliyah Jean-Jacques controlled the paint, while Boswell and Ennis continued to stretch the floor as the lead swelled past 30.
 
The Mustangs never let up in the final period, maintaining their defensive intensity and sharing the ball to keep fresh legs in constant motion. Stevenson closed out the night with 60 rebounds, 14 steals, and 20 assists, showcasing depth and discipline throughout the rotation as the margin expanded to the final 64-point difference.
 
Stevenson will look to carry that momentum on the road next, traveling to Washington College (Md.) for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
