MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Stevenson Field Hockey traveled to Penn State Harrisburg this afternoon for a non-conference matchup. The Mustangs dominated offensively from start to finish, coming away with a 3-0 victory.
Graduate student Emma Gladstein scored just three minutes into the match, capitalizing on a penalty corner opportunity set up by sophomore Lauren Schulz, who was credited with the assist.
Though the Lions were able to stave off the Mustangs for the rest of the half, Gladstein made sure to disrupt their defense early in the third quarter. Her second goal of the day was assisted by sophomore Shae Bennett, who dished her the ball right in front of the net.
With just minutes to go, sophomore Lauren Tobin earned her first point as a Mustang by assisting Gladstein in completing her hat trick.
Gladstein's four-goal week has her leading the Mustangs with six goals and two assists for 14 points, including three game-winning goals. Bennett leads the Mustangs in assists with three.
Sophomore Jordan Vradenburgh did not see any shots on goal until the fourth quarter, where she made one stop. Stevenson finished with 19 overall shots and 10 shots on goal.
The Mustangs improve to 4-0 with today's win, which was also their third straight shutout. They look to earn win number five on the season this coming Wednesday, September 11th when they host McDaniel on the East Campus. Game time is slated for 6 p.m.
