WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Stevenson women's tennis team fell to 1-2 overall after a 6-3 defeat to Penn State Harrisburg.
Ariella Stepleman led the way for the Mustangs with two victories.
Stepleman and
Shelby Carter won their second match of the day in a 6-4 triumph in No. 1 doubles.
Sofia McCoy and
Tiffany Njemanze picked up a dominating 6-2 win in No. 3 doubles for Stevenson.
Stepleman would later cruise to a 6-0, 6-4 win in No. 2 - giving her four total wins on the day (won two matches against Catholic earlier in the day).Â
McCoy and
Yana Vaiman would drop two close matches in No. 5 and 6 singles, 8-7 (5-0) and 8-6.Â
Stevenson competes next at the three-day ITA Regional Championships held in Fredericksburg, Va. starting on Saturday, September 21.Â
