Men's Volleyball vanquished by Knights in MAC First Round, 3-2

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Arcadia hit .462 in the fifth and final set as the Knights (17-12) upended Stevenson (15-12) 3-2 in the first round of the 2024 Middle Atlantic Conference Men's Volleyball Championship Wednesday night.
 
The Mustangs went down 2-1 before winning the fourth set 25-19, but, dropped the fifth and deciding set 15-7. Arcadia will now head to top-seeded Stevens on Thursday night while Stevenson's season comes to an end.
 
Stevenson won the first set 25-19, but, dropped set two and set three by identical 25-22 scores.
 
Tim Flanagan led the way with 26 kills, while Ryan Thenell had 15. Aidan O'Brien had nine.
 
Justin Novoa had 47 assists, with Elliot De La Torre getting five blocks. Novoa and Thenell each had three.
 
Tanner Laukhuff had eight digs.
 
Both Flanagan and Thenell hit .458 in the match.
 
Leading 6-5 in set one, Stevenson broke open the first set by scoring six straight points to go up 12-5 and would lead the rest of the way.
 
In set two, Arcadia broke open a 17-all tie by scoring two straight points to go up 19-17, then would only let the Mustangs get within one the first of the way.
 
Set three saw the Knights rally from a 18-15 deficit to take a 22-20 lead on the way to a 25-22 win.
 
In set four, Stevenson led 15-10 before the Knights rallied to within two at 18-16. Leading 19-17, the Mustangs scored three straight points to take a 22-17 lead.
 
Set five saw the Knights go up 6-3 and never look back, going up 14-5 by outscoring the Mustangs 8-2.
