ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – The Stevenson University softball team finished the 2024 season by dropping a doubleheader to Eastern in MAC Commonwealth play on Saturday.
In game one, the Eagles blanked the Mustangs, 3-0, while Eastern defeated Stevenson 8-2 in the nightcap.
Game 1 – Eastern 3, Stevenson 0
Stevenson collected just two hits in the opener, as
Ava Stafursky and
Rebecca Henry hit safely.
Ky Vaughn took the loss, walking two and giving up three earned runs in six innings of work.
Game 2 – Eastern 8, Stevenson 2
After Eastern took a 6-0 lead, Stevenson added two in the fourth as Henry singled up the middle scoring Stafursky. Henry would later score on a RBI single by
Maddie Buher.
McKenzie Tobler,
Rebecca Maiorano and Buher all had two hits in the game.
Grace Briggs took the loss, as she struck out one in 1.2 innings of work.
Molly Parker pitched 4.1 innings of work and struck out one and walked one.
