OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson baseball (9-20, 4-10) managed a mid-game 4-4 tie before ending short to conference opponent Messiah (25-8, 14-2) on Friday afternoon. The final score was 12-5.
In an eventful fifth ending, following the Falcons posting four runs, the Mustangs tied them in the bottom half. A single from senior third baseman
Ryan Lassiter allowed loaded bases and junior catcher
Matt Perri to return home. A single soon after from senior first baseman
Nick Tamberino allowed first-year right fielder
Christopher Manco to follow Perri. Sophomore left fielder
Kaige Garrity followed suit on a fielder's choice from batter first-year infielder
Connor Wilkerson. With Lassiter on base from earlier, a pair of stolen bases from him and Wilkerson tied the game 4-4.
Despite the effort in the fifth inning, the Mustangs managed one more opportunity in the bottom of the seventh when Garrity scored on a sacrifice fly out by Tamberino. Three more runs in the following innings by the Falcons secured the final 12-5 score.
Although ending short to the receiving votes conference opponent, Tamberino secured two RBI for the Mustangs. Garrity picked up a pair of runs and hits on the afternoon. On pitching, senior

The Mustangs continue their conference series against the Falcons tomorrow when they travel to Grantham for a doubleheader tomorrow, April 20, beginning at 12 p.m.
