FREDERICK, Md. - Stevenson Men's Lacrosse played to another dominant MAC victory tonight, setting a new goals record for the season. The Mustangs came away with a 28-5 finish with 14 players recording points.
Junior Grant Zick set a new career record with ten points tonight on four goals and six assists. Following Zick were sophomore Max Racich and first year Darrell Curtis with five goals and two assists each. Zick leads the Mustangs this season with 27 assists and 53 points. Racich now has a team-high 28 goals and totals 41 points while Curtis stands at 20 goals and 23 points.
First years Hunter Bryant and Gavin Gossen each came away with two goals and one assist while senior Dillon Linhardt and juniors Jack Scaliti and Graeme McCrory both netted two goals. Sophomore Brennan McKneely recorded two points as well with his two assists. Bryant and Gossen boast 14 and 17 points this season, respectively. Linhardt's goals were his fifth and sixth of the season, Scaliti's bring his total to 15, and McCrory's put him at seven.
Sophomore Stephen Butterfield marked his season debut with his first career goal while first year Kaleb Russell notched an assist in his first career game. Seniors Conor Halpin and Andrew Searing as well as graduate student Stephen Rinck each scored one goal.
First year Bradley Bennett won a career- and game-high 12 face-offs followed by Halpin, who won nine of 11.
Defensively, graduate student Nicholas Mulvey, senior Damien Schmidt, and sophomore Allan Starks tied for a game-high three ground balls. Starks was responsible for causing a game-high two turnovers, which were the first of his career.
In net, graduate student Justin Scorese made two saves while first year Nicholas Parolin and junior Kai Dimaculangan made one stop apiece.
The Mustangs stand at 7-5 overall and 2-0 in conference on a four-game win streak. In their two MAC contests so far, Stevenson has combined for 50 goals for and just 12 against.
Stevenson's next MAC contest is scheduled for Saturday, April 13th at Mustang Stadium against Alvernia University. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
