LANGHORNE, Pa. - The Stevenson men's tennis team cruised to its first win of the season by an 8-1 score over host Cairn.
Larry Johnson III and
Simeon Smith picked up their third win of the spring in an 8-4 triumph in No. 1 doubles.
Sathwik Madasi and
Garrett Warren dominated their No. 2 opponents, 8-1, for their first win of the spring.
Nickolas Valis and
Honour Zan won a hard-fought match in No. 3, 8-6.
In No. 1 singles, Johnson earned his third win of the year by an 8-1 score, while Madasi won his No. 2 match in a third-set tiebreaker, 6-4, 1-6, 10-4. Smith, Warren and Zan each won their matches by the same 6-0, 6-3 score. The win improves Smith's record to 3-2 on the year. Zan and Warren are now 2-0 and 1-1, respectively.
Stevenson will look to keep the momentum going against Harford Community College on Monday, March 25. First serve is set for 2 p.m. and the Greenspring Campus Tennis Courts.
