Outen and Lightfoot named to UCHC All-Tournament Team

UTICA, N.Y. - Stevenson Men's Hockey faced off against top-seeded Utica tonight at the Adirondack Bank Center for the 2023-24 UCHC title. The hosting Pioneers, ranked second in all of NCAA Division IIII, would go on to win 3-2.

The Pioneers scored two straight goals in the second period to go up 3-1. At the halfway point of the third period, Vitucci would score his 10th goal of the season, matching his assist total for an even 20 points on the year. Assisting Vitucci were Musella once more and sophomore Jack Karlsson for their 23rd and 12th points of the season.

In net, junior Ty Outen made 33 saves, including 15 in the second period. His season save total comes to 782 with a .943 save percetange and 1.82 goals against average.

Outen and Lightfoot's efforts in the tournament earned them spots on the UCHC All-Tournament Team. Lightfoot recorded at least one point in each game of the tournament, starting with an assist against King's before he scored twice in the semifinal against Wilkes, including the overtime winner. Outen made 83 saves across his three post-season games.

The Mustangs finish the season with a program-best 21-6-1 record. In the 2023-24 season, they won an Oswego State Hockey Classic championship, a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) championship, and finished as UCHC Runner-Up.
