OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson baseball (3-3) topped the Franciscan University Barons (0-1) on a chilly Friday afternoon by a final score of 18-3.
The Barons managed two runs in the top of the first. Quickly taking the lead, the Mustangs added five runs in the bottom of the first. The Barons added their third and last run in the second inning.
In the bottom of the fourth, sophomore outfielders
Graham Sears and
Kaige Garrity each scored. In the bottom of the fifth, junior outfield
Dalton Reinhart hit a double, allowing Sears and Garrity to score.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Mustangs had eight runs and seven hits despite two errors. Garrity scored on a single from junior first baseman

John Padousis scored the final run in the eighth inning before the game was called due to darkness.
Reinhart led all batters with three RBI, with five at bats, two runs, and three hits. Garrity scored four runs on the afternoon with two walks. At pitching, senior

The Mustangs will take on the Barons in a tentative doubleheader tomorrow, Saturday, March 2 for a noon start time at East Campus.
