OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson baseball (1-2) scored five runs in the first game to the Lesley University Lynxs' (2-2) nine before going 10-0 in the second game on Sunday, a game that was played to six innings due to sunset.
The Mustangs opened the first game with a lead, as sophomore
Graham Sears scored on a wild pitch, but the Lynx quickly went ahead. In the third inning, sophomore
Kaige Garrity stole third, allowing a score to be made despite an error. Garrity added another run on an error in the fifth inning, trailing the Lynx by the closest margin.
In the first game, first-year
Christopher Manco and junior
Dalton Reinhart each added an RBI, while Garrity totaled three runs and two stolen bases for the Mustangs in the loss.
At bat in the second game, junior
Zack Majeski and sophomore
Noah Joly each notched two hits. The Lynx secured their early game runs with a double play down left field early. On pitching, SU senior
Jason Labrador totaled seven strikeouts.
In the second game, despite allowing 10 runs from the Lynx, junior
Carl Sansbury pitched four strikeouts with four earned runs.
The Mustangs will take on Marymount University on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 2:30 p.m. at Owings Mills East.
