OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson men's swimming team opened up its regular season with a tri-meet victory over Hood (119-77) and Goucher (155-31) at the Rosenberg Aquatic Center.
The 200 Yard Medley Relay team of
Justin Watts,
Jack Mark, Zac Clark and
Sean Sopko opened up the day with a victory in the event with a combined time of 1:43.77.
Brendan Lach would then go on to set a school record in the 1000 Yard Free with a winning time of 10:35.48. Zach Hogg clocked an 11:29.76 to take second place for the Mustangs.
In the 200 Free, Clark took first overall with a time of 1:53.47, while Will Lebron and Watts finished second and third with times of 1:53.87 and 1:58.94.
Sopko just missed out on his school record by .01 seconds in the 50 Free with a first-place time in 21.24.
In the 200 IM,
Brandon Cogdill touched the wall first in 2:14.71 to take first place, while Sopko and Clark finished first and second in the 100 Fly with times of 53.56 and 55.92.
Lebron and Watts cruised to first and second place with times of 59.29 and 1:00.83 in the 100 Back.
Stevenson competes next in a tri-meet against St. Mary's (Md.) and Washington College on Sunday, November 3 at 1 p.m.
