Bolgert with 15 off the bench for Stevenson

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – A total of ten three-pointer for the York College of Pennsylvania men's basketball team was more than enough as the Spartans (13-7, 6-3 MAC Commonwealth) defeated Stevenson (8-12, 2-7 MAC Commonwealth) 78-65 on Wednesday night.

Chris Miers had 24 points, a game-high, for the Spartans who sank ten of their 23 attempts on the night. Jayden Rowe had 19 while Jackson Mascari netted 16 in the win.

For Stevenson, Zach Bolgert had 15 off the bench, with Ronald Ayers getting 14 and Cameron Smith along with Myles Jackson each scoring 12.

Stevenson came out of the gate firing and took its biggest lead at 25-14 with seven minutes left in the first half on a jumper by Bolgert. From there, York would make a charge and eventually tie the score at 31-all with 1:54 left on a three-pointer by Rowe. York would finish the first by scoring six straight points to take a 37-31 lead at intermission.

In the second half, York would go up by as much as 18 at 57-39 with 11:00 left on a Rowe three-pointer. Stevenson would make a late run, getting to within eight on two occasions but could not get any closer.

Stevenson controlled the glass with a rebounding edge of 33-29 with Smith and Bolgert each having seven. Mascari had ten caroms for York, completing the double-double.

Stevenson hits the road for the next two, starting with a trip to Eastern on Saturday.
