Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Starting a long home stretch – and facing some nationally-ranked competition over the next few days – the Stevenson University women's volleyball team set the tone for the upcoming days with a 3-0 win over cross-border rival Gettysburg on Wednesday night.
Set scores were 25-19, 25-14 and 25-22.
For the Mustangs, a balanced attack was paced by
Rileigh Kimball getting nine kills, with
Kylie DesLauriers with seven.
Darian Dildy and
Giulia Viglietta each had six kills on the night as the Mustangs (2-2) finished with a .221 attack percentage (35-10-113).
Makala Thompson had 18 assists, with
Samantha Simmers getting ten.
The Mustangs also had 12 service aces, with Simmers getting four and
Haley Hoover picking up three.
Defensively,
Kayla Vaeth had 17 digs and DesLauriers had 12.
Stevenson hosts a two-day, four-team quad starting Friday night. The Mustangs will face Scranton at 6 p.m., while also taking on nationally-ranked Mary Washington and DeSales University during the two-day quad.
