OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson men's soccer team slotted their first win of the season and first win on the new Bermuda Grass game field on Owings Mills East on Sunday afternoon. The Mustangs took down the Gators 2-1.
Dean Martin put Stevenson on the board in the 31
st minute off a ball from
Zack Byas. Allegheny then responded about ten minutes later to tie the match 1-1 going into halftime.
In the second half, it was a duel between both teams, but Joel Nicholson was able to put the Mustangs on top with a penalty kick goal in the 68
th minute to secure a 2-1 victory for Stevenson.
Bryant Seivers led the shots on goal column for the Mustangs with two, while six other Mustangs posted one shot on goal.
Nolen Olson-Warwick stood between the pipes for Stevenson and made three saves in the contest.
The Mustangs will be back in action on Owings Mills East on Wednesday evening. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. against the Shenandoah Hornets.
