READING, Pa. – The Stevenson University softball team moved its record in the MAC Commonwealth to 7-3 with a sweep of Albright College on Sunday afternoon.
In game one, Stevenson (15-12) won the contest 12-0 in five innings, while winning the nightcap 9-1 over the Lions (3-19, 0-8 MAC Commonwealth).
Stevenson got on the board early in game one, as Jordan Fangman slammed a two-run homerun to left. Four runs came across in the third as Jillian Haines singled home Maddie Bosley, with Megan Hamp coming home on a sacrifice fly by Rivers Edwards.
A two-run single by Elizabeth Russo scored Haines and Marissa Heuer.
Haines picked up another RBI in the fourth, scoring Fangman on a single. Russo would get her third RBI of the game in the fourth, singling home Heuer.
A bases-loaded walk by McKenzie Tobler in the fourth scored Haines for a 9-0 lead.
Bosley cleared the bases with a three-run triple, scoring Tobler, Russo and Edwards.
Russo finished the game 3-for-3 with three RBI, while Bosley, Fangman and Haines each had two hits.
The offensive output was more than enough for Heuer, as she moved to 9-5 with a two-hit, seven strikeout performance in the circle.
In game two, Fangman started the scoring with a RBI single that scored Tobler. Haines would hit a three-run home run scoring Fangman and Bosley for a 4-0 lead.
A pinch hit two-run home run from Rebecca Maiorano in the sixth gave the Mustangs a 6-0 lead, while went to 7-0 as Tobler singled scoring Kat Perea.
In the seventh, Russo had a two-run single that scored Perea and Abbie Peterson.
Haines got the win, striking out four and walking two in a complete game to move to 4-4.
Tobler was 3-for-5 in game two, while Fangman had two hits, as did Perea and Russo.
Stevenson takes on York on Wednesday at Owings Mills East.
