BALTIMORE, Md. - The Stevenson men's track and field team opened up its outdoor season with five event victories at the Blue & Gold Classic, hosted by Goucher.
Nathan Williams picked up where he left off during the indoor season with a first-place finish and new school record (52.94m) in the hammer throw. Williams - who won the event by 10.35m - broke his previous school record of 52.70m set last season. In the discus, Williams' top throw of 46.92m gave him another new school record and first place overall. Williams would also break his own school record in the shot put with a top toss of 15.07m, which gave him second place.
Jeremiah Battle won the long jump with a top leap of 6.37, while
Hayden Schindler clocked a time 34:44.96 in the 10,000.
Christian Eldridge clocked a personal best in his 200 victory with a time of 22.61. Raccioppi took second in the event with a 22.92. Eldridge would also take fourth in the 100 with a time of 11.37.
Raccioppi just missed his personal best in the 400 with a time of 50.39, which gave him second overall in the event. Fabrice Saint Hillen finished fifth in the event with a time of 50.67.
Jay Hyman placed second his in his collegiate debut in the javelin with a top toss of 43.35m.
Johnathan Womack and
Jake Barrett clocked times 4:21.02 (PR) and 4:27.99. Womack would also take second in the 800 with a 2:04.92.
Conner Hall had a top height of 1.72m in the high jump.
Stevenson competes next at the two-day Danny Curran Invitational, hosted by Widener, starting on Friday, March 31.
