READING, Pa. – Stevenson men's ice hockey senior goalkeeper
Ryan Kenny became the sixth Mustang to sign a professional contract, joining the Reading Royals of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).
The ECHL is a mid-level professional ice hockey league based in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, with teams scattered across the United States and Canada. It is a tier below the American Hockey League.
Kenny signs the deal as the program's all-time saves record holder in games played (84), minutes (4936:58), saves (2221) and wins (56). In his senior season he tallied 580 saves with 13 wins and two shutouts in his 22 starts in goal. He finished the 2022-23 season with a 2.21 goals against average in 1300:47 minutes.
The Royals will take the ice on Friday, March 3 for a 7pm puck drop against Trois-Rivier Lions at the Santander Arena in Reading, Pa.
