Reading, Pa. – The Stevenson men's basketball team fell to Albright College 76-66 on Saturday afternoon, with only two games remaining in the regular season.
First Half
Albright opened the scoring before the Mustangs' senior guard
KJ Holton and graduate student guard
Connor Walsh grabbed an early Stevenson lead. The squads traded buckets as the game was tied at 14 with 13:20 to go in the half. Stevenson sophomore guard
Cameron Smith's three pointer, assisted by Walsh, gave the Mustangs the lead, and was followed by a junior guard
Cameron Sapienza jumper. The Lions fought back and with seven minutes remaining, stretched out their lead to a six-point advantage. Stevenson pushed back again, and with the help of Holton who scored five points in the final two minutes, sending Stevenson to locker room up 37-32.
Second Half
As the second half started, Albright quickly evened the game at 37 as the Lions cashed in on a sophomore forward
Nate Arrington turnover which sent the Lions' Zyon Grant up the other way for a three-pointer. At the halfway mark, Albright controlled an eight point lead, 56-48, over the Mustangs. The Lions kept the pace through the final 10 minutes, and their advantage forced the Mustangs to start fouling. The Mustangs missed two three-pointers in the final minute, and the Lions took the victory, 76-66.

Following the loss, the Mustangs fall to 11-12 (5-8) as their losing streak extends to six games. Stevenson will continue their road swing on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Messiah University at 6 p.m. The Lions improve to 9-14 (6-9) and are next in action on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 6.m. as they host Widener University, who has clinched a MAC Championship playoff berth.
