ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – A 50-point second half was more than enough for the Stevenson University men's basketball team as the Mustangs (1-0) defeated Elizabethtown (1-1) 91-78 in the season opener on Saturday.

In addition to the season opening win, head coach Gary Stewart became the all-time leader in wins at Stevenson with his 139th-career victory, surpassing former coach and current athletic director Brett Adams.

After a basket from Elizabethtown 13 seconds into the second half, Stevenson led for good as Smith hit back-to-back jumpers. The last one, 58 seconds into the second stanza, gave the Mustangs the lead for good at 45-43.
