Six Mustangs record points in loss to Lebanon Valley

REISTERSTOWN, Md. - Stevenson Women's Ice Hockey hosted UCHC and MAC foe Lebanon Valley this afternoon at the Reisterstown Sportsplex. The Mustangs would be forced to play catch up throughout the game, with the Flying Dutchmen coming out on top with a 5-3 final.

Lebanon Valley would score twice in the opening period before first year Carleigh Barwick netted her first collegiate goal with just over two minutes to spare. She was assisted by senior Hannah Labbe and junior Maddie Silverman for their second points of the season.

The Dutchmen scored once in the second, but senior Katelyn Reid would equalize the period's scoring in her unassisted effort. The goal was her first of the season.

The Mustangs' final goal would come in the third period between two Lebanon Valley goals, provided by senior Franki Cappello via classmate Cassie Campbell. The goal elevates Cappello to two points while Campbell's assist was her first of the season.

Campbell led Stevenson with 13 face-off wins while Barwick and sophomore Maggie Dean followed with eight and seven, respectively.

Senior Emily Brightbill would log a team-high three blocks with Labbe adding two.

In goal, sophomore Maggie Sehnert made 28 stops, including 12 in the third period.

The Mustangs look to even out the series tomorrow night at Hersheypark Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
