SCRANTON, Pa. – The Stevenson University men's swimming team started off its season with a 193-70 win over Marywood on Saturday afternoon.
Stevenson went 1-3 in the opening 200 yard medley relay as the team of Zac Clark,
Brady Gotter,
Ian D'Angiolillo and
Parker Weigel won the event at 1:50.24, while the team of
Riley Strain,
Jack Mark,
Shane Jordan and
Haden Welsh were third at 1:54.94.
Brandon Cogdill won the 1000 free with a time of 11:21.94, followed by
Sean Sopko in second at 11:21.95.
Hayden Kaus was third at 12:58.32
D'Angiolillo was second in the 200 free at 2:02.41 while Zach Hogg was third at 2:06.13.
Weigel was second in the 50 back at 28.80, while Jordan was third at 31.02.
Cogdill picked up his second win of the day in the 50 breast at 32.04, while Gotter was second at 32.22 and Newton third at 34.76.
In the 100 fly,
Darius Theodore was first at 57 seconds, with Strain in third at 1:01.87.
Clark won the 50 free at 23.57 while Coburn was second at 25.42 and Hogg third at 26.48.
Theodore was first in the 100 free at 51.41 with Mark third at 56.89.
D'Angiolillo was second in the 100 back at 1:02.92, while Gotter was third at 1:06.10.
Clark won his second event of the day in the 100 breast at 1:07.60, with Sopko second at 1:08.30.
Cogdill got the winning hat trick by capturing the 500 free at 6:00.32, with Kaus second at 6:05.96 and Welsh third at 6:37.50.
D'Angiolillo won the 50 fly at 25.31, with Theodore second at 25.90.
Sopko was first in the 100 IM, while Clark was third. Sopko hit the pad at 58.05, while Clark was 1:00.23.
Stevenson won the final two spots in the 200 free relay as Mark, Hogg, Jordan and Theodore were first at 1:41.38, while Newton, Welsh, Coburn and Kaus were second with a time of 1:46.09.
Stevenson heads to Goucher on Saturday.
