WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Stevenson women's tennis team fell to host Catholic (D.C.) by a 5-4 score - dropping its record to 0-2 on the year.
Torrienne Emery and
Shelby Carter cruised to an 8-1 win in No. 1 doubles - the lone doubles victory for the Mustangs.Â
Emery picked up her first singles win of the year in her No. 1 match by a 6-3, 6-2 score. Both
Shelby Carter and
Erin Saunders improved their singles records to 2-0 after winning their No. 2 and 3 matches by scores of 6-4, 7-6 (5-0) and 6-1, 6-4, respectively.
Sofia McCoy overcame a one-set deficit in No. 6, but would eventually fall in a third-set tiebreak, 6-2, 6-7 (3-0), 10-4.Â
Stevenson concludes the fall season at the Washington College (Md.) Indoor Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 18. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
