TOWSON, Md. – The Stevenson University men's swimming team captured its second straight meet to start the season on Saturday, defeating local rival Goucher 165-25.
The meet started with the team of
Brandon Cogdill,
Brady Gotter,
Riley Strain and
Jack Mark winning the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:48.97. The team of
Haden Welsh,
Blake Newton,
Shane Jordan and
Skyler Coburn was second with a mark of 1:56.07.
Ian D'Angiolillo won the 1000 free with a time of 11:08.64, with Zach Hogg going second at 11:19.50.
In the 200 free,
Zachary Clark won the event at 1:53.12, with Strain going second at 2:02.09 and
Hayden Kaus third at 2:08.81
In the 50 free,
Sean Sopko was first with a time of 21.93, while Gotter was third at 25.90.
In the 200 IM, Cogdill won his first individual event of the day with a time of 2:16.29 with
Parker Weigel in second at 2:20.26 and Coburn third at 2:23.07.
D'Angiolillo was first in the 100 fly at 56.53, with Jordan second at 1:03.13.
Sopko won this second event of the day – the 100 free – with a time of 48.96 while Mark was third at 55.41
Clark won this second event of the day at 59.73 in the 100 back, with Weigel going second at 1:00.71 and Strain third at 1:01.58.
Hogg won the 500 free at 5:34.38, Kaus was second at 5:54.98 and Coburn third at 6:02.86.
In the 100 breast, Cogdill won his second event with a time of 1:06.64 followed by Gotter in second at 1:07.19 and Mark in third at 1:09.36.
In the 200 free relay, the team of Weigel, D'Angiolillo, Clark and Sopko was first at 1:34.31 with the team of Jordan, Welsh, Strain and Kaus second at 1:43.64.
