WINCHESTER, Va. - The Stevenson women's track and field team turned in several solid performances as they resumed their indoor season at the Kate & JJ Smith Invitational, hosted by Shenandoah.
Makayla Vaughns placed sixth in the weight throw out of 18 athletes with a top toss of 12.30m.Â
Hannah Kepler just missed out on the 60m dash finals with a ninth-place finish and a time of 8.41 seconds. Kepler would also take sixth in the 200 with a time of 28.71 - just .22 seconds off of the qualifying mark for the MAC Championships.
Maryam Al Naseri clocked a 6:06.34 in the mile, which gave her 12th place out of 22 runners.
Alissa Swann took fifth in the 800 with a solid time of 2:38.70 - a new personal best.
Kaitlyn Hess placed second in the triple jump with a hop, skip and jump of 9.89m.Â
Stevenson competes next at the Cardinal Track & Field Classic, held at the Prince George's County Sports and Learning Complex, on Saturday, January 21 at 10:00 a.m.
