St. Davis, Pa. – The Stevenson Mustangs' defense struggles in the second half and falls to Eastern University, 76-60
 
First Half
Senior guard KJ Holton got the Mustangs on the board first, and after a graduate student guard Conner Walsh steal and a quick layup, Stevenson was up 8-4 three minutes in. Coming out of an Eastern timeout, Holton drained a deep three to increase the lead by seven. The Eagles then went on a 6-0 run to climb within two before SU sophomore forward Cameron Smith made a free throw. With 4:22 remaining, Eastern's Jaron Fairweather gave his team their first lead of the game, 23-22, followed shortly by a Smith three that recaptured the lead for the Mustangs. The Mustangs held the lead took a two-point advantage going into the break, 30-28.
 
Second Half
SU graduate student McKale Williams drained a three to open the second half before Eastern's offense heated up. Over the first eight minutes of the half, the Eagles outscored the Mustangs 15-5. Eastern held a 10-point lead for the remainder of the half as the Eagles shot 66.7% from the field with 48 points. Smith, Holton, and sophomore forward Nate Arrington tried to keep the Mustangs close as they all recorded double digit points. 
 
Following the loss, the Mustangs fall to 10-6 (4-3 MACC) and are next set to host Messiah College on Wednesday, Jan. 18 with a 6 p.m. tip-off. With this win, the Eagles improve to 12-4 (5-2 MACC) and will travel to Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 6 p.m.
