PITTSTON, Pa. -- Stevenson men's hockey continued sporting its flair for the dramatic, picking up a 2-1 road win in overtime against King's (Pa.) on Tuesday night in UCHC/MAC action. 

Stevenson (14-5-1, 10-3) picked up its fifth straight victory as Ryan Patrick finished off a drop pass off the rush from Eric Olson and Frank Vitucci with the man advantage. 

King's (Pa.) (4-16-0, 3-11-0) did not go quietly, working to tie the score at one in the third period and earning a crucial point in the UCHC standings. 

• Stevenson built pressure over the opening half of the period but struggled to direct any quality looks on goal. Ryan Kenny made a point-blank save on a King's (Pa.) man advantage, following it up with a shorthanded save minutes later. 
• Off the rush, Evan Beers had a chance shuffled away in the slot. The Mustangs killed off another King's power play chance as the clock ticked down near the 3:30 mark. 
• Kenny made a stick save on a one-time chance before smothering the rebound chance to stop play with 2:01 left in the period. 

• Stevenson flipped the shot count in its favor with five shot attempts over the initial four minutes of the period. Alex Rivet tipped in a look from Nick Dineen, pushing the Mustangs ahead 1-0 at 6:14. 
• Moments later, Graeme McCrory had an opportunity saved by the King's netminder. The Mustangs continued racking up the chances before King's countered with a breakaway chance as Kenny shut the door on the shot from Jack Cooper. 
• The pace quickened with quality scoring looks for each side of up and down action. Eric Olson raced back to prevent another breakaway chance, checking the King's skater off the puck. 
• The Mustangs hemmed the puck in the King's offensive zone, working the cycle for a long shift. Aidan Graham sent a shot through traffic at the point with just under two seconds left in the period as the Mustangs went into the intermission with the 1-0 advantage. 

• King's attempted a pair of chances early in the third, both blocked away by the Stevenson defense. 
• The Monarchs eventually converted as Kent Lee pounced on a loose puck in the slot to even the score at one. 
• Both sides continued to trade chances as the clock ticked down under four minutes in the period. Frank Vitucci ripped a chance off a faceoff win as Matt Bidini made the stop. 
• The Monarchs had a shot attempt from the left point followed by a rebound chance with under one minute remaining. 

• With a strong power move toward the goal, Mac Lowry drew a penalty just over 30 seconds into the overtime. 
• Off the rush, the Mustangs charged into the zone as Olson dropped back a pass to Patrick, who lit the lamp for the victory. 

• Through regulation, King's had a 35-26 edge in shots on goal. 
• Six different Stevenson skaters registered a point in the victory. 
• Stevenson moves to 7-0 all-time against the Monarchs. 
• Stevenson has gone to overtime in three of the last four games. 
• Rivet added his eighth goal of the season in the second period with assists to Dineen and Kyle Lightfoot, tying for the team lead. 
• The Mustangs held an 18-10 advantage in draws following the opening period.
• Stevenson got off to a quick start in the second period, ending the stanza with a 23-15 edge in shots on goal. 
• Stevenson is receiving votes in the USCHO DIII Poll. 
• The two teams met for the first time this season on Tuesday night after some schedule adjustments for the Mustangs. The squads will see each other again in just 10 days at the Reisterstown Sportsplex.
