OWINGS MILLS, Md.- The Stevenson field hockey team fell, 4-2 in their season home opener at Mustang Stadium against Gettysburg, Sunday afternoon.

• Quarter one was slow as their was one lone corner taken by Mustangs, Veronica Maring. 

• Gettysburg held possession for the majority of the quarter until the Mustangs were awarded a corner that resulted in a goal. 
• Maring assisted Carolyn Braziel on the goal after the corner. At halftime, the Mustangs led, 1-0. 

• Gettysburg once again held possession at the beginning of the quarter which resulted in a goal by Jenna Vadinsky and assisted by Henna Fraiman. 
• Mustangs goalie, Rachel Barker put up a fight in the cage as the Bullets ended the quarter with seven corners. 
• in the 43rd minute, after a Gettysburg corner Charlotte Lacey assisted Emma Bertrando to take the lead, 2-1. 

• Gettysburg started off the quarter taking five corners. 
• In the 47th and 48th minute Gettysburg scored their final two goals to extend their lead, 4-1. 
• One minute later, Stevenson was awarded a corner which resulted in a goal. Maring put in the corner for the assist and Riley Sullivan scored her second goal of the season. 

• Freshman goalie had another stellar day in the cage as she put up 15 saves. 
• Gettysburg held a 33-6 advantage in shots. 
• Gettysburg held a 21-4 advantage in corners. 
• Braziel scored her first collegiate goal while Maring added two more assists to her weekend. 

• The Mustangs travel to McDaniel on Wednesday, September 8th at 6:00 PM.
