CHESTERTOWN, Md.- The Stevenson field hockey team dropped a 4-2 decision at Washington (Md.), Saturday afternoon.

• The Mustangs held possession for the majority of the first quarter as they struck first. 
• In the 11th minute, Meghan Huey shot from the right side and the ball found its way into the back of the cage. 
• Three minutes later, Washington (Md.) got on the board to tie up the game, 1-1, after Zoe Shevitz put it in the cage off the left post after a pass from Anna Harrington. 

• In the 24th minute, Washington (Md.) scored their second goal of the game from seven yards out. 

• Washington (Md.) held possession for the beginning of the quarter until Macy Kosanovich passed to Kaitlin Karns who put the ball in the back of an empty cage. 
• Two minutes later, Washington (Md.) got possession again, and after gathering a loose ball the Shorebirds put it in from the right side to go up, 3-2. 
• Less than a minute later, the Shorebirds sealed their win with a goal from ten yards out. 

• The final quarter saw Washington (Md.) hold possession for the majority as they got off four shots. 

• Karns scored her first goal of the season while sophomore, Huey scored her first collegiate goal for the Mustangs. 
• Washington (Md.) held an edge in shots, 18-11. 
• Washington (Md.) also held a slight, 5-4 edge in corners. 

• The Mustangs are on the road again as they travel to Lancaster Bible on Tuesday, September 14th at 7:00 PM.
