Box Score HERSHEY, Pa. - Stevenson men's ice hockey first years Matt Dougherty, Zach Egber, and Justin Vickers all netted their first career goal to lead the Mustangs to a, 7-1, United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) victory Sunday evening at HersheyPark Arena.
- On the first shot of the game just 3:37 into the contest, Dougherty gave the Mustangs (9-2-1, 6-1-1 UCHC) the early lead on assists from junior Ryan Patrick and senior Matt Cappucci.
- The Dutchmen (2-3-2, 2-3-2 UCHC) responded at the 7:29 mark as Jared Stevenson scored on the hosts second shot of the game.
- Stevenson earned the game's first power play opportunity after an interference penalty but shot attempts by first year Blake Colman and junior Chad Watt were saved in front.
- Egber was whistled for a penalty at the 13:28 mark but the Mustangs killed off the penalty and Egber scored, unassisted, eight seconds after coming out of the box.
- The Mustangs had a five-on-three power play for 50 seconds towards the end of the period, scoring with 13 seconds left in the period.
- Colman gave the visitors the, 3-1, lead on helpers from senior Aaron Murray and Patrick.
- Stevenson had to kill off a five-on-three power play for 14 seconds with sophomore Ryan Kenny stopping the lone shot over the two penalties.
- Late in the period, the Mustangs went on the power play, needing just 27 seconds before first Mac Lowry gave the visitors a three-goal advantage.
- First year Evan Beers dished out the primary assist while Patrick recorded the secondary.
- Back on the power play, Murray found the back of the net with 53 seconds before intermission as Lowry and Patrick picked up assists.
- Lebanon Valley had a power play opportunity at the 8:37 mark but it was the visitors who recorded a pair of shorthanded shots.
- At the 13:02 mark, the Mustangs had a five-on-three advantage after both a major and minor penalty by the hosts.
- After failing to score on the two-man advantage, Stevenson netted a pair of goals as both first year Anthony Starzi and Vickers found the back of the net.
- Sophomore Chris Lee fed the puck to Starzi through the neutral zone while Vickers scored unassisted after a failed clear by the Dutchmen.
- The Dutchmen got a second goal on the board with 53 seconds remaining, scoring on the power play.
- Stevenson outshot Lebanon Valley, 30-13.
- The Mustangs finished 4-for-8 on the power play and 6-for-7 on the penalty kill.
- It is the ninth time in program history the Mustangs have scored at least seven goals, including the second time versus the Dutchmen.
- Patrick finished with four assists, which ties the program record set by both Dominic Brenza '20 and Christian Ripley '20.
- Stevenson returns to action on Wednesday, March 24 when the Mustangs face Manhattanville in a UCHC contest in Aston, Pa., beginning at 1:00 p.m.
- The Mustangs then conclude the regular season on Saturday, March 27 when the team travels to Nazareth for a UCHC tilt with opening face-off scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
