Mustang Women Complete Two-Game Sweep Versus Eastern

ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - The Stevenson University women's basketball team picked up their second win against Eastern University on Friday night at EU Gymnasium, 68-63. Senior Olivia Coleman led the Mustangs with a season-high 21 points and reached double-doubles by grabbing 12 rebounds.

  • 15 seconds into the first quarter, a Morgan Pennick basket put Stevenson on the board 2-0.
  • The first three and a half minutes of the first quarter featured five three-pointers, two from Morgan Pennick for Stevenson and one each from Jaelyn Harris, Da'Naziah Brown, and Naomi Harris. At the 7:49 mark, the Eagles led by one, 9-8.
  • With 3:10 left in the first quarter, off a Trisha Tellian steal, Morgan DeBeary put up a layup to tie the game, 12-12.
  • Maleah Smith added a layup and one good free throw at the 3:09 mark to extend the Mustangs lead by three, 15-12.

  • The Mustangs led 38-21 at the 2:39 mark when Alexa Sanmartin hit a three to extend the Mustangs lead by 17.
  • In the final two minutes of the first half, the Mustangs held a 4-1 lead, 41-22.

  • Within the first two minutes of the second half, Coleman dished out three good free throws for the Mustangs.
  • The Eagles held the Mustangs scoreless for the next four minutes as Eastern scored 14 points to come within eight of the Mustangs, capped by two Coleman free throws.
