Crosson Scores First Career Goal in Mustangs 4-0 Win Over Wilkes

WILKES-BARRE, Pa.- The Stevenson women's hockey team completed their series sweep of Wilkes this afternoon as they defeated the Colonels, 4-0.

Breanna Crosson netted her first career goal, while Trinity Barcless recorded two goals and Karly Aguirre added one. 

  • The Mustangs were off to a fast start as Stevenson got off four shots in the first minute of the game. 
  • At the 1:03 minute mark following a Wilkes penalty, Stevenson began their first power play. The Mustangs were able to fire off four shots during the two minutes. 
  • Midway through the first period, the Mustangs were successful during a power play as Nikki Kendrick and Trinity Barcless assisted Breanna Crosson for their first goal of the game. 
  • The Mustangs found their way into another power play towards the end of the period. Stevenson took eight shots during the opportunity but all were unsuccessful. 

  • At the 6:31 minute mark, the Mustangs had a power-play opportunity. A minute later, with passes from Ashlyn Bray and Crosson, the Mustangs were able to capitalize on the play as Karly Aguirre netted one. 
  • At the 10:31 minute mark, Stevenson was on the board again to go up, 3-0 as Barcless put one in the net. 
  • Towards the end of the second period, Stevenson had another power-play opportunity. At 19:10 with seconds remaining in the PP Barcless recorded the Mustangs final goal of the game. 

  • Stevenson started strong in the final period as Ally Gibson took two shots following two shots from Aguirre. 
  • The Mustangs had yet another power play opportunity at the 7:12 minute mark. Stevenson took five shots during the play but was unable to capitalize. 
  • Stevenson kept firing off shots during the period as they totaled 15 in the third period. 

  • The Mustangs outshot Wilkes, 53-15. 
  • Stevenson went 3 for 6 on power plays while Wilkes was 0 for 2. 
  • Stevenson won 40-58 faceoffs. Tea Ferrara won 16 of her 18 faceoffs. 

  • Stevenson is finished until the new year when they travel to Williams on January 2 at 2:00 pm for a non-conference game.
