ST. DAVID'S, Pa.- The Stevenson women's volleyball team's comeback in the fifth set was not enough as they ultimately fell 3-2 at Eastern University in the MAC Commonwealth Championship.

• The Mustangs were slow to get going in set one, as Eastern jumped out to a 3-7 lead to start following a kill. 
• A kill by Mackenzie Blevins brought the Mustangs within four but the Eagles tallied the next three points to lead, 6-13. 
• Stevenson went 4-0 run but they still trailed, 12-16 following kills from Shannon Baily, Sophia Eckerd, and Darian Dildy. 
• Another kill from Blevins and an Eagle attack error kept Stevenson within four but they couldn't come any closer as Eastern took the final three points of the set to win, 16-25. 

• Set two was a different story for the Mustangs. The two teams started off trading points. 
• Makala Thompson served up an ace to tie up the set, 5-5. 
• Three points in a row for the Mustangs gave them a 10-8 lead after a kill from Piper Connors and an ace from Sarah Straub. 
• Eastern came within two of Stevenson but they started to pull away as they led, 16-11. Two attack errors in a row by the Eagles extended Stevenson's lead. 
• The Eagles racked up four points in a row to trail, 16-15, and then proceeded to tie it up at 17 after a service ace. 
• Stevenson kept things going as they added three points in an as Straub smacked down a kill. 
• Eastern picked up three more points in a row but it wasn't enough as a kill from Baily and an Eagle attack error gave the Mustangs the, 26-24 win. 

• The Mustangs took a while to get going in set three as the Eagles went up 5-0 to start set three. 
• Stevenson picked up three free consecutive points on Eastern attack errors as the Mustangs trailed by one. 
• For the next couple of points, the teams went back and forth until Stevenson, racked up five straight points to lead, 15-10 after two kills from Baily and two from Dildy. 
• Blevins served up two aces in a row to give the Mustangs a, 18-12 lead. 
• The Mustangs once again picked up consecutive points after kills by Straub, Connors, and Blevins. Stevenson led, 22-15. 
• Stevenson's lead was too much for Eastern as the Mustangs won set three, 25-17. 

• Set four saw Stevenson struggle as Eastern picked up a 3-15 lead after ten points in a row. 
• At the end of the set the two teams traded points but Stevenson couldn't recover as they fell, 11-25. 

• In the final set, Eastern led, 1-5 after an Eagle kill. 
• Kills from Dildy and Eckerd cut Eastern's lead, 4-8. 
• A service ace from Thompson brought Stevenson within one of Eastern at 8-9. 
• The Mustangs kept fighting as they took the lead at 13-12 following two kills from Dildy. 
• Eastern secured their win as MAC Commonwealth Champions as they tallied the final three points of the set to win, 13-15. 

• The Mustangs fall to 26-6 while Eastern advances to 24-5. Stevenson ends their nine-time MAC Commonwealth Champion streak. 
• Stevenson held a 49-47 edge in kills over Eastern. The Eagles hit .197 while the Mustangs hit .135. 
• Baily totaled ten kills (.125) and added three digs. 
• Connors totaled nine kills and ten digs. 
• Blevins tallied eight kills, 19 assists, three service aces, and 13 digs. 
• Vaeth added 21 digs and a service ace. 

• As of October 31st, Stevenson women's volleyball sits in sixth in Region V while Eastern is behind the Mustangs in eighth. On Monday, November 8 at 12:30 PM, the Mustangs will find out if they will receive an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.
